MultiData Templates
As explained in MultiData you can upload your existing data using pre-designed Templates that are Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Template spreadsheets have different columns and tabs depending on the module. Drop-down menus for master data fields such as Building Groups display only the relevant data for the logged in User and Site. The Site ID (name) is limited to the Site to which the User is logged in.
If a record with the same Name is already in the database, Eagle CMMS adds any new data and writes over any existing data when the Template is Uploaded. If you add or copy a new record that does not currently exist in the database, it creates a new record for that Site.
CAUTION: Do not enter any data in the ID column. Eagle CMMS auto-generates ID's after records are created.

Only a few Users have the option to upload Multidata Templates. Those who have permission to do this are:
- Site Editor
- Site Admin
- Company Editor
- Company Admin

An Upload supports links to other records in the Company. For example:
- Uploaded Locations can be linked to existing Buildings
- Assets can be linked to a Building and Location
Records are uploaded in bulk per Site. For example, you can upload records for Site A when you are logged in to Site A, but you cannot upload records for Site B when logged in to Site A.

NOTE: Be certain you have logged in to the desired Site.
- Select the desired menu option (Add Building, Create Asset, etc.).
- Choose the Multidata Template button at the upper right.
- Complete the downloaded Template with your data. See Template Relationships for required data.
REMINDER: Leave the ID field blank. Eagle CMMS assigns this ID when data is uploaded.

Once the Template is completed, the authorized User can:
- Log in to the correct Site (very important).
- Select the desired menu option (Add Building, Create Asset, etc.).
- Choose the Upload Data button.
Newly uploaded records are visible in the View All list of records for each menu selection (Buildings, Assets, Parts, etc.).
